URGENT!!! Can't use the ATI Radeon X1400 on RedHat Enterprise Linux 4 AS
 

Hi,

Mine is a Dell Inspiron E1505/6400 Laptop with 256MB ATI Mobility Radeon X1400. My OS is RedHat Enterprise Linux 4 AS. I have downloaded the ati-driver-installer-8.37.6-x86.x86_64.run file and also ran it. It gets installed but when I run 'aticonfig --initial' it show the error message that /etc/X11 is missing template. What could be done in this case please help........................

I understand that this is a very serious problem for you, as indicated by the tone of your post. However, while this community thrives on helping people, it's not appreciated when someone tries to have their question as "better" than anyone else's, marking it with urgent, for example.

Have you used google to search for your error message? What have you tried to fix the problem?

You've also posted this to the wrong sub forum- LQ Suggestions and Feedback is for site stuff, not regular linux questions. I've reported it so a mod can move it to a better spot.
