urgent

I'm currently running windows, trying to find a way to get online with linux.

I had a problem connecting using the router as well. Look on your wireless router and find the make/model and look for the manual online.
Also, open your web browser on the computer to which the router is wired and enter 192.168.1.1 into the address bar. If this is a Linksys, as I assume it is, a login box will pop up. Leave the username field blank and enter "admin" as the password. You will be brought to the router's configuration "site", you might call it. On the first page will be fields in which to type your internet login information. There are several types of connection to choose from (call your ISP to find out which you are). choose the correct one and enter the username and password you use to log in. It should then work, along with any other computers receiving a signal from the router but it is not working

Hello and Welcome to LinuxQuestions,

First of all 'urgent' is a very poor title for a thread. The urgency in your problem applies only to you, not to us since we're all volunteers. Furthermore is doesn't say anything about the problem or question at hand.

From the 'manual' you wrote in your post I assume you are trying to connect your Linux (always very important to post what distro you're using) to the internet using a wireless connection.

Have you tried the obvious commands to check if you have any connection? Can you access the internet with Linux if you connect using a cable?
Are you getting any errors, and if so, what are they, please post them.

Kind regards,

Eric

I'm sure in your mind that you describe some form of a problem in the above. But!

I would suggest that you look at the next two links;

Hello,

Tell us what distro you are using (which distribution of Linux, Ubuntu, Debian, Slackware, ...). Next post the output of the ifconfig command. That is open a terminal window, type in
Code:

ifconfig
and copy paste the output of that command here.

Kind regards,

Eric

BTW, I'm unable to open the files you attached. I imagine they are screenshots are something but .jpg.pdf ??
