Uploading fonts in Fedora Core 2

Hi there!!

I'm new to Linux and need to upload a font (Helvetica Narrow) to my Fedora Core 2. I have the Mac and PC versions, but I guess I'll have to convert it into a Linux one. Am I right?, if so, how can I do it?

Thanks a lot and may the Force be with you

Koldo

For just yourself, put the font in the hidden folder .fonts in your home folder. To make it available to everyone, put it in /usr/share/fonts (you need to be root to write there). Then as root run fc-cache

Thanks Andy,

I'll pass that info onto to a technician friend, so that he can enjoy doing all the hard work :-) I'm afraid I've been using Linux for just a couple of days, and still don't feel confident enough. You know, the "what if I break it down" feeling Windows users tend to have ;-)

I owe you a pint if you ever come to Manchester

If you happen to use KDE at any point, it has a very good font installer that can be accessed in kcontrol (KDE control center).
