I can only get wireless wi-fi internet from my neighbors.

Only my Ubuntu Laptop can get online via my wireless device.

My Ubuntu Tower Desktop PC does not recognize this wireless device.

My tower can get online if I connect it to my laptop via an ethernet cable cord.

On my tower, I was trying to upgrade or update my Ubuntu OS (Operating System) so it can recognize and use my wireless device which can then get my tower online directly without needing my laptop.

When trying to update or upgrade the tower, I ran into some errors.

any ubuntu based computer connecter to internet can update, yes.

But I think my tower says I don't have permission or something.

I have to go find the error messages and copy and paste them to this thread as soon as I can.

Because the tower doesn't directly connect to the internet.

It has to travel through ethernet, through the laptop and then via wireless to get online.

The tower does not have an internal wireless card. That is why I need to plug and play or stick in an external wireless device into my tower via maybe USB. I already have a USB wireless device that should work. But my tower won't recognize it. But I think I need to upgrade my tower's Ubuntu OS and maybe download some programs or updates or upgrades in order to make it work.

But that is where the problem lies.
