Question upgrading MySQL on WHITEBOX E.L. 3

hi guys,

I just installed Whitebox Enterprise Linux together with Apache 2.something, php 4.something and MySQL 3.23.58 .

As I'm going to run a webserver on this machine, and more particularly with Typo3, I do think it would be better to upgrade the MySQL (especially as then I can use the graphic MySQL Administrator )

How can I do this? The MySQL files seem quite dispursed around my harddisk and I'm a bit afraid that my mysql.sock file will not be updated etc etc.

thanks in advance for your help!

Your best options is to uninstall all mysql stuff with rpm -e
then download the latest stable mysql stuff from i think its 4.0. xx its probably the best way to go.
You need to make sure to download all the rpms related to mysql including client or you wont be able to connect to it from the console etc.
