i have a sony vaio vgn-fe31z i am unable to recover my authenticating keys they dont match whats on th e hd i have replaced hd so what os can i put on this lovly old well built machine any ideas welcome

Looks like Core 2 Duo, 1.83ghz, 2GB RAM @533mhz, Nvidia GEForce 7600.

You could probably run most current distros on that, perhaps turn off some of the DE glitz on some.

I run several Slackware current machines with similar specs and no problems, Fluxbox on all.
