Upgrading KDE 3.1 to 3.2.2

I have browed the forums and many other sites to answer this question. I have downloaded the RPM's from KDE's website and I go to install them and I have no success. It looks as if it was working the hard drive is spinning yet no action. I then drop from X to command and try to install from there using the rpm -ivh packagename.rpm. This has no effect i double click on it yet no success again. If you can please help me with this issue that would be great. Thanks again. Least I forget I am using Fedora core 1.
