upgrading glibc 2.3.2 to glibc 2.3.3
frustrated yes, been messing with this for a few days, but when i run configure i get

error: you must configure in a separate build directory
so ok i looked on the net found out i need to make a separate build dir. so i did glibc-build, then i read a little page on how it install it all,(would post the link if i could) followed it to the T and still get this error. i really need to get this done, i need to get a few cs:s servers going so thanks in advance

you really shouldn't be trying to buld a new glibc by hand
if you suceed in doing it correctly you will have destroyed your system totally.
but if you must this first problem is easy

mkdir ../glibc-build
cd ../glibc-build

so, how should i go about this then, cuz i wouldnt mind killing my system if i had it at home but its sitting in a data center so yeah, want to upgrade really bad cuz nothing seems to work with it

it's most likely ok to upgrade glibc if redhat has done it and you use some good package manager like apt or something to update the system
otherwise use binary applications compiled for your version of glibc
or if you are trying to compile something that needs a newer version of glibc try a slightly older version of it
