upgrading from rh9.0 to fc2

hey, this is definatly a newbie type question that will be easy for y'all to answer:

i am going to upgrade from redhat 9.0 to fc2

i have lots of important data under my linux partition

when i upgrade this will not erase my data, correct (since i am not formatting my linux partition prior to upgrade)

never have performed an upgrade before, this is new to me and i dont want to lose irreplacible data

thanks,
travis

That's correct. You will be basically upgrading all the software. You're not re-partitioning or anything like that.

there is no need to even go to that trouble,

just download the new kernel rpm and install it
