Hi,
We are trying to upgrade the existing Hardware running on the Fedora 3 to CentOS. Here we wanted to do this in our customers place, this we want to do as remote operation rather doing a manual installation. As part of this experimentation, we have created the image of the complete root filesytem of the CentOS on the same hardware (i.e., tarring the complete /). Untarred this on the FC3 running hardware in particular directory, changed the grub.conf to point to this directory (i.e. for eg. the directory /centos where all the filesytem is untarred).
On boot up I am getting this error
device-mapper: ioctl: 4.11.5-ioctl (2007-12-12) initialised:
dm-devel@redhat.com
Loading dm-mirror.ko module
Loading dm-zero.ko module
Loading dm-snapshot.ko module
Waiting for driver initialization.

My question here is that is this method mentioned above possible?
Any idea of how to fix this kernel panic error.
