Before anyone could really give you specific advice, you would need to let us know what your intentions are. What do you use the computer for? What programs are important to you. Some specs on your hardware, how new/old your computer is would also make a difference.

I have an Acer Aspire One which I bought 2 years ago! I would like to be able tp upgrade the open office I have (version 2.3) and cannot seem to do this. I have downloaded it and now cannot find it in extensions. I have tried to download other programmed and it is asking for a later version of OO. I also find the version of Linux restrictive in that I need to go into writer to find the extension manager!!I cannot seem to find where to get into extension from the desktop!! As you may gather I am very new to all this as I am a converted windows user!! Any help would be appreciated!!
I'm not sure what your intentions are? In your initial post, you seemed to indicate you were looking for a different Linux distribution other than Linpus?? Your last post indicates your looking to upgrade Open Office. Which is it?
If you do a search here at LQ or on the internet, you will find a lot of information about Linpus Linux and most of it will be negative. It is not seen as a very good distribution. I've never used it myself so can't state anything factually about it. You might look into getting some other operating system with better support. You can click the Distro Reviews link on the top right of this page, google or got to Distrowatch web site which has links to the most popular Linux distributions where you can get detailed information.
As far as downloading programs, with Linux you usually do that from each distributions specific repositories. I'm not sure how up-to-date Linpus is in that regard and what kind of support you can get.
