Upgrade php 4.2.x to 4.3.x
Hi! I'm a real newbie when it comes to upgrading packages that aren't on the redhat up2date package downloads. I have redhat 8.0 running with php 4.2.2, and I'd like to upgrade to the new 4.3.3 (mainly because of bundled GD). PHP was originally installed as an RPM. I removed all old php rpms, and tried installing the new one after stopping httpd (apache 2), and received the following error message:
Failed dependencies: httpd-mmn = 20020903 is needed by php-4.3.3-rbt.apache2.rh0.0.i386.rpm libzzip-0.so.10 is needed by php-4.3.3-rbt.apache2.rh8.0 I've looked all over for a httpd-mmn rpm, found nothing. Is it easier to upgrade something like this with an rpm or use source code? I'm a bit uneasy installing the source code (tried, but got tons of errors, mainly stating it couldn't find apxs.). Any advice would truly be appreciated! Thanks! :newbie: |
