upgrade kernel

how to upgrade kernel? my current kernel version 2.6.16.13-4-smp

Two options:
1) Upgrade it to something provided by your current distro.
2) Compile yourself.

The popular answer is the first one. Which distro are you using?

Exclamation upgrade kernel
Every time you do an online update suse tells you which updates are available
including kernel update also if there are special updates.

Configure you,re automatic update if you find it a easy way. See yast2 to do so
