upgrade from i386 to i686

I have redhat 9.0 i386 on my system. My system is now i686. Is there enough of a difference between having the linux installation for i386 and i686 to want to change it? How do I upgrade? Do I just run an installation for i686 as an upgrade?

Please do not post the same thread in more than one forum. Picking the most relevant forum and posting it once there makes it easier for other members to help you and keeps the discussion all in one place.
