Upgrade from httpd 2.4.6 to 2.4.41

I am new to Linux and currently need to upgrade the httpd on RHEL7 from 2.4.6 to 2.4.41, to fix CVE-2018-1312. Can someone help me with the command to do this? Do I also need to take any backups before I upgrade?

yum update httpd is not working. It gives a message saying "No packages were marked for update"

Since you're using RHEL 7, have you contacted Red Hat support?? RHEL is a long support cycle distro, so packages aren't released often until they're well tested. If you don't have an upgrade candidate, that means it's not released yet, so calling Red Hat will tell you WHEN it's going to be released.

Beyond that, if you're new to Linux, why/how have you been given the job of updating a server to address security problems?

So they usually disclose when the next update is going to drop?

If you're asking for specific packages, the only avenue is support; if they don't know, they can ask the developers, and probably at least find out some sort of time, but that depends on if THEY know.

Regardless, RHEL is a pay-for distro, and part of what you pay for is updates and support.
