Updating kernel for NVIDIA problem

I tried using the online update for RH 8.0 and it updated a boatload of
packages for me. It got to the point while donwloading the new kernel (2.4.18-26.80) I got this error message:

The package kernel-source-2.4.18-26.80 does not have a valid GPG signature. It has been tampered with or corrupted. Continue?

What is a GPG signature?

I am trying to update the kernel because according to instructions I read in
NVIDIA's forum for installing the drivers for a GeForce4 MX 420, the kernel
should be upgraded in order to configure this video card correctly in RH 8.0.

Any suggestions?

A GPG signature is just a method of making sure of the integrity of the RPM you have downloaded. There may have been a problem during download, so first, I would download it again and see if that sorts the problem.
