I seen the new Screenys of the latest KDE, And BLIMEY does it look nice! I'm running 2.1.2 At the moment, as i'm on linux 7.1(red hat) and i'm not going to download RedHat 8 now, because 9 is out in a week or so. so i was wondering if anyone has a guide to what files i need and how i install it please? Thanks.

Red Hat 9 will have KDE 3.1 so I wouldn't bother downloading the files if you are planning to update.

Hey, I just had the same wow factor - I'm running KDE 2.2.1 (I think, I'm not at home) with Mandrake 8.0.

Am I in for a marathon weekend of updates if I attempt this?

You can get 3.1 if you go to http://kde-redhat.sourceforge.net/ and get apt and follow the directions. I worked fine for me. It's not the latest 3.1.1, but it's pretty good. They have it for both RedHat 7.x and 8.0.

The RPMs for 3.1.1 are on www.kde.org , but they look like they're only for RH 8.0. I'm not sure about Mandrake.
