updating backports directory in your linux repo
 

Hi,

I have recently started using linux. I have a linux repository (based on the 3.10 kernel) with changes that support my embedded board. I am trying to add support for BTLE. What I have discovered so far is that I need bluetooth bits (ie net/bluetooth, include/net/bluetooth, and drivers/bluetooth )from the 3.18 kernel or greater for this to work.I verified this by manually copying over those directories from the rpi-3.18.y kernel ( raspberry pi linux repo ). I am trying to figure out a proper way of porting these changes to our repo. I have read about the linux backports and it seems like that is the right way to go. But even after reading the wiki ( https://backports.wiki.kernel.org/in...kports/hacking ) some things are not quite clear to me.

So how do I go about updating the backports directory in my linux repo to add the necessary bluetooth support from say the rpi-3.18.y branch of the raspberry pi repo

I think you have to add the repo lines in /etc/apt/...
