Updates will not load
I attempted to load "updates this am and got a refusal message that reads " E: dpkg was interrupted, you must manually run "sudo dpkg -- configure -a" to correct the problem. I entered that info at the prompt and got some very confusing info, but no fix. Now what? I am running Ubuntu 9.10

Update won't run
Here is the list of messages I get when I input the "sudo dpkg --configure -a"
Type dpkg --help for help about installing and deinstalling packages[*]; Use `dselect' or `aptitude' for user-friendly package management; Type dpkg -Dhelp for a list of dpkg debug flag values; Type dpkg --force-help for a list of forcing options; Type dpkg-deb --help for help about manipulating *.deb files; Type dpkg --licence for copyright licence and lack of warranty (GNU GPL)[*]. Options marked[*] produce a lot of output - pipe it through `less' or `more' ! I don't see the relevance that any of these actions provide for the problem at hand. |
Good morning everyone! I figured out the problem. I had not paid enough attention to the spacing of the terminal input. When copied EXACTLY as the computer presented it - the updates began working again. Thanks for the quick comeback Repo. I'll be a more careful in the future. Linux is sooooo different than Windows, but a whole lot better. I just have a lot of learning to do.
