update problems


hi all........im new here........and quite new to linux
i had rh8 and i upgraded it use the up2date.
i have 2 os. windows xp and rh8.
after the the upgrade ( also kernel upgrade) i have few problems (using grub as boot loader)
1. cant load the xp (i dont know if that relates ) but its not the majority
2. cant load the x. i get this error : xauth: /lib/i686/libc.so.6: version 'GLIBC_2.3.2' not found
3. every few minutes i have this msg on the screen INIT: id "x" respawning too fast : disabled for 5 minutes

i must add that all of this occur after the upgrade. i searched the internet for answers and i have seen some soultions but its not working
