update network manager fc11

hi
i try to update my network manager [version 0.7 from fc11] through yum,although network manager version 8 was out,but the command:
yum update networkmanager
just update it from 0.7 to 0.7.1,
why wouldn't there be network manager version 8?? [through yum i mean]
what is the reason??

Generally Red Hat (and Fedora) will only provide minor version updates and backport security fixes for each release. You can only expect major version updates in new releases

network manager is in the major version updates group,like kernel? i mean if i try install the kernel version 2.6.32.14-127 [fc13],[as i use fc11],(like network manager Ver:8),it won't be available through yum?,am i right?

for the now END OF LIFE fedora 11
YOU DO NOT !!!!!

You install fedora 13 then in 5 to 6 months you install fedora 14 .

you can NOT do that you can NOT install a fedora 13 kernel on fedora 11
you can NOT install a fedora 13 network manager on fedora 11

that will ONLY KILL your computer

install fedora 13
