up2date kernel update in text mode

how do i update my kernel with update in text mode?

Read man up2date for commands.
You will have run up2date --configure if this is the first time you are using up2date. up2date -d downloads the selected kernel and up2date -i installs it. Dependency checks will show you'll need around 3 other updates to go with the kernel update. Only the package name is needed, don't enter the version or release number. Graphical is a lot easier.

it's my linux box (133MHz P1 & 24mb simm) so the graphical version is out of the question, and i am kinda confused with that man page..not so good in english language.
