Up2Date & YUM

If I run Up2Date in Fedora am I also running YUM?

If I uncheck the core update box in Up2Date can I then do the updates without changing the core?

I am not ready to deal with configuring a new core at this point!

nope, they are different. up2date in not yum. Sorry cant answer the second question, I hardly use up2date.
