up2date and others (like samba) will not let me remove, upgrade, install, etc!

Here be the errors i get.

[root@crimsonsherver cl2imson]# rpm -U up2date-4.1.21-3.i386.rpm
error: Failed dependencies:
up2date = 4.1.16 is needed by (installed) up2date-gnome-4.1.16-1
[root@crimsonsherver cl2imson]# rpm -U up2date-gnome-4.1.21-3.i386.rpm
error: Failed dependencies:
up2date = 4.1.21 is needed by up2date-gnome-4.1.21-3
[root@crimsonsherver cl2imson]#

this continues in a circle forever.

i cannot remove either up2date.

I am logged in as root, as you can see, but cannot update to newest version!

Can anyone guide me in the direction I need to correct this?

thanx in advance

You can do them both at once:
# rpm -U up2date-gnome-4.1.21-3.i386.rpm up2date-4.1.21-3.i386.rpm
