Untarring files?????


How do I untar files???

tar -xvf <your-tar-file.tar> <path-to-untar-to>

tar xvf filename.tar
tar zxvf filename.tgz
tar zxvf filename.tar.gz

tar --help
man tar

And in addition when making you should:

cd into the directiry created
./configure
make
make install
(You should be root when doing this)
