UNR + Vodafone 3G usb Dongle
 

Hey all,

Just had a weekend of playing with my new Dell Mini 10 on a Vodafone 3G package deal.

Booted it up.. looked around and what it had and then wiped the drive and put Ubuntu Netbook Remix on it straight away. Looks even better now!!

Now I need to get the 3G up and running. I plugged in the dongle with the SIM inside. Nothing happens. I get a red light on the side which means its not happy as my wife has the same (with XP still installed) and it should flash like a bluetooth blue LED.

I checked the dmesg and the dongle is read in the system but it seems just as another usb drive or something and thats it.

Anyone got this running? What steps did you take?

I have just had a little google around and found this site:

It has drivers for the Dell and UNR. Im going to follow the INSTALL.TXT supplied on the site and see if that will work later this evening.
