unknown symbol platform_driver_register while insmod

While I was insmod my own kernel module, it says unknown symbol and dmesg shows the following

unknown symbol platform_driver_register

In my module, I use that function indeed. My question is quite general.
If the dmesg shows the above message, does it mean that my current kernel does not have platform_driver_register binary?

If I want to check wether my kernel binary has that function or not, what could I do?

Thanks in advance,
