Uninstalling Suse Linux 10.0
Hi All,
I have already spent many hours searching form answers, although there are many, none have worked for me yet. I have a Dell Laptop old Inspiron 1100 Only Suse Linux 10.0 is installed. It is using Grub command line I need to install windows on it. The system does not allow me to auto run any disks at boot up. I do not have access to the Root... I have tried to delete the partitions using YaST, but it will not let me delete them all. Currently I have in the partitioner: /dev/hdc 74.5 GB Toshiba-MK026GaX 0 9728 /dev/hdc2 73.5 GB Linux native / 128 9728 I could restore to yesturday when I had a Swap partition too. I am completely stuck  |

What did you do to install Suse? |
Check your BIOS... Make sure its' first boot is set to CDROM/DVDROM
|
1. Not to get into to much details, but its my uncles laptop given to My computer illeterate Dad who can not handle using linux and wants Windows.
2. I can seem to get into the Bios.... I hit F2 at start up like I am supposed to, and then the Grub begins to load, then there is a very pixeled screen that flashes once then it is off to loading |
I am working on flashing the bios FYI
|
I assume your uncle probably had to access the BIOS to install Suse...
Have you tried sticking a CD in there to see if the BIOS is already configured? Can you ask your uncle? |
yah the bios is not set up for CD first. My uncle lives on the other side of the US than me. Much thanks for the help
