I have suse linux installed as dual boot along with windows xp..now i am experiencing space problems for windows and want to remove suse from my machine and allocate that partition too to windows..how do i go about it?

i tried logging into linux and deleting the partitions but after reboot i am getting a black screen with the

will i be able to allocate the linux partition again to windows without using partition magic?

Uh oh. Not good.
First, are you sure you didn't delete your Windows partition?

After that, we've got to get some tools.
http://www.planetmirror.com/pub/ubcd...bcd33-full.exe
This will download a Self-Extracting EXE file that extracts into an ISO.
If you're using Linux:
http://www.planetmirror.com/pub/ubcd...bcd33-full.zip

Extract this and burn the CD.
This'll start up in your drive.
Go to: Filesystem Tools > MBRWork
Keep hitting enter when FreeDOS starts up (make sure to enable NTFS support, though).
Next, look for an option that allows you to write in the original MBR code.
If it's not in MBRWork, restart your system and use MBRTool (also in the Filesystem section).

So now, you should be able to boot to Windows. I suggest using a partition utility to recover the free space. This should do the trick. Please inform me of your status.

Hope that helps.
