Uninstalling packages

I fully recommend getting synapse. It's a great utility for seeing what packages you have installed and adding and/or removing stuff you want/don't want/need/don't need - I just got it (but I can't remember where or how - maybe someone else can tell you how to get it).

Go here. you need to download and install the apt-get package which will then give instructions to automatically download and install synaptic. You will never look back once it is installed. It makes downloading and updating a point and click affair

To install apt, just go to website as mentioned by Crasherz.
in the console, type: rpm -Uvh thepackagename.rpm

I've just installed apt and synaptic. It works great. the only problem i have is:

1. How do I create another souce of package in the source.list file?
I've read the manual , but i still dont understand it.
any other apt user who can give me an example of this one? maybe and example of another URL will do.

This seems to be a misunderstanding. From hildog's posting I assumed that there is an other program called synapse as opposed to synaptic. Thank you for clarifying.
