Uninstalling MPlayer


I recently installed MPlayer, but I need to uninstall it... how can I go about doing that? Thanks so much...

helps if you tell us how you installed it in the first place, but assuming it's an rpm just use "rpm -e mplayer"

You should do:

make uninstall

in the same directory that you did make install. If you already deleted the source directory, just delete:

/usr/local/bin/mplayer
/usr/local/bin/gmplayer (if you compiled gui)
/usr/local/bin/mencoder (if you compiled it)
/usr/local/share/mplayer (directory)
/usr/local/doc/mplayer* (directory)
/usr/local/man/man1/mplayer.*
/usr/local/man/man1/mencoder.* (I'm not sure that this exists, but remove it if it does).

Of course if you installed under /usr and not /usr/local, leave out the local from the above paths. I think that's all that mplayer really puts in your system.
