Uninstall ubuntu 10.10 netbook and reinstall 10.04

I upgraded from Ubuntu 10.04 netbook to 10.10 netbook and I want to go back to 10.04. Adding to the problem, I have this computer dual booted with Windows XP. Is it possible to do this somehow?

I suspect that you should be able to by loading Ubuntu 10.04 onto a disc or flash drive and following the boot up procedures to install...Reboot to (disc/usb)run /install format only where 10.10 is presently however

return to 10.04

After copying the data from the present ubuntu, as the partition will be lost, you could delete that partition with Gparted and install 10.04 on the 'non allocated space'. Make sure that xp shows up in the partitioning process when installing 10.04 and perhaps clone the xp partition to another drive. ideally xp will be on the first os partition. I suggest cloning in case you have no xp cd.

Not original poster & linux newbie, but since original poster said he upgraded wouldn't it have happened through apt or synaptic?
If so , couldn't they revert using apt or synaptic to downgrade?
I thought I saw it on a post.
