Uninstall postgresQL and PHP

hi there to all. i have installed before and configured together apache+postgresQL and php. i just want to know how to uninstall postgresQL and php.
they are compiled and install from source.
i did try using this by going to postgresql source directory:
@localhost src]# make uninstall
make: *** No rule to make target 'uninstall'. Stop.

and it doesnt work.
anybody has knowledge of uninstalling a source distro?
pls help and thanks in advance.

only way i know of uninstall from source is this way this i what i've done.

install checkinstall
and then reinstall the app like php or sql or whatever the same way like before from source same version and everything and checkinstall will prompt you to make an rpm do that
it will over write all the files
and then just uninstall the rpm.
