UnInstall Mandrake 7.0

I am new to linux...well, never used it before becuase I have never loaded it on any computer and got past the boot up stage. A friend of mine gave me a mandrake 7.0 os she had in her office that was never opened so i thought i would try it out on this computer i have not been useing.

I got rid of all my windows partitions and formated the drive then loaded the install disks included with the mandrake os but after it was done with the install it just went to a boot screen and never finished loading. I dont care to much for this version of the os and would like to do a full uninstall. I am going to just go back to my old windows on the computer and just want to clear all linux from the machine. any help on this would be great.

ps. I am going to download the new version but i am going to load it on another hard drive...but not today

Thanks
Pappasaa

Just reformat the hard drive and run fdisk /mbr as you would if you were removing any operating system. And welcome to LQ :D - the problem was probably that your pc is too new for such an old version of Mandrake.

thanks but that did not work the first time. I could not delete the partition made by linux but i did find the help i needed on the microsoft support site. I am going to share it with everyone just incase another person wants to do what i did but has no idea how to ask for help. Thank you again and i will visit this site soon for help on my new linux adventures...

WARNING: This will delete ALL partitions: DO NOT DO THIS UNLESS YOU KNOW WHAT YOU ARE DOING AND WANT TO HAVE A BLANK DRIVE...
