Exclamation unexpected inconsistancy needs URGENT help

oh man, oh man...

OK, I tried to repartition my HD using FDISK that is included with RH 7.1 installation... (NOTE that I already have both Windows2000 and RH 7.1 installed on my system...)
So, I went through the installation just at the point where I get fdisk... I repartition and save... and then I hit the Reset-Button... (!!!)
My windows still works perfect...

My current partitionlist is this:
hda1=/boot (linux)
hda2=NTFS (windows2000 system)
hda3=NTFS (data)
hda4=FAT32 (to share between linux and win2000)
hdb1=/ (linux)
hdb2=swap (linux)
hdb3=/home (linux)

just off the record... I first had only 3 partition on hda, I removed the hda3 and made it hda3&hda4

so, now my problem is this: when I boot into linux (using boot-disk)I get the following message:

Inode 153 (...) has bad mode (0177770)
(i.e. without -a or -p option)

then I can login using the root password... (which I do) and then I run fsck (with every option you can imagine)

so that is what I did bud it says that hdb1 is mounted and that it cannot do anything...

Is this caused by this aborted installation in which I re-partitioned my HDs?

Is there any solution?

Just incase I should have to re-install Linux (which is not all that much of a trouble...) how should I do it that I can use LiLo instead of a bootDisk...
Where (MBR or what) should I install LiLo or what should I do (add to lilo.conf) to be able to have LiLo as a boot mgr...? Just keep in mind that I do not like to re-install Windows (unless it is unavoidable... - but really unavoidable )

the last time I tried to tamper with LiLo.conf, I ended up having to re-install windows2000 because apparently; NTLDR had been removed or overwritten or something...

Oh, and BTW, how can I configure RH linux to mount the /dev/hda4 at boot-time?

P.S.: pretty urgent!!!

So you fdisk'd and created some Linux partitions yeah? But did you run mke2fs to create your file systems? Or was this DOS fdisk you were using?

If you have created your file systems and all should be OK then boot from a boot disk/rescue disk and run fsck from there.

As for Win2K and Linux bootin that another story, and one probably left until you get things back working as they were. It's been covered in the forum a few times if you want to search for it

no, actually, I removed an NTFS partition (used to be hda3) and then I added a new NTFS-partition (now hda3) and I also added a FAT32-partition (now hda4)

BTW: I formatted the to new partitions (hda3 & hda4) using windows2000)
