Smile unblock vncserver.

Hi, my linux install a vncserver, than i want to active my firewall but i want to lets client to vnc to my vncserver, i already start vncserver: # vncserver

than listen on port 5901. this is vncserver :1

i have turn on my firewall protect, than i issue command:

# iptables -A INPUT -p tcp --dport 5901 -j ACCEPT

But on my client side to try vnc to this vncserver cannot access. Than i on vncserver there issue command:

# iptables -F

than client side can remote control so i confirm problem on iptalbes(firewall).

How to configure iptables(firewall) to lets client to vnc the server example :1 or :2 or :3 (port number: 5901, 5902 , 5903).

Thank you.

I'm not entirely sure what you're asking, but this article explains a little on secure VNC:

http://www.linuxjournal.com/article/5560

Aside from that, if you could repeat the question...I mean, are you saying you can get it to work with 5901 and you need to get it to work with 5902 etc too? Surely that's just a case of changing the Iptables command slightly?

if I understand you correctly. You can do a multiport like this.

iptables -I INPUT 3 -p tcp -m multiport --dport 5901:5903 -j ACCEPT
