Unallocated shared FAT partition for RH9 and XP not accessible.

Hello all,
This is my first post to this forum and hope to be clear and detailed enough. I had a dual boot box with XP Home and RH9.
XP - NTFS 20GB.
Linux - ext3 10GB.
Then I got the idea of resizing the NTFS partition to 15GB and create a common shared FAT partition of 5GB (music :-) and some other files). I used BootItNG for that and everything went fine. The end result is that I have ~14GB in NTFS, ~10GB in ext(Linux). The 5GB is visible in both the OS's but not accessible (XP says the space is unallocated. RH9 shows it in the hard drive configurations). BootItNG talks about putting in an EMBR (Extended Master Boot Record), but does not give a detailed procedure for that.
Now, my question is- Where do I go from here to make that partition accessible to both the OS's? (Anyone familiar with BootItNG please help!)
If there is any thread in the fora which talks about this problem, a link to that thread will be appreciated.
Thanks.
Leenaxoo.

Hmm what i have done is, I formated my XP Pro, installed Shrike. I also have other drives(40 gig FAT Fileserver) also a (20 gig FAT games)
I install Shrike on another primary 40 gig, i have the other 2 on the second IDE master and slave. and I can access those after mounting them in X.

Here is a tutorial for doing so with FAT

also do not forget to actually format that partition you created.
