Unable to write to FAT32 USBdrive
Hi,
I have slight problem that has been annoying me recently. I have a win xp and fedora core 2 dual boot. I am able to mount windows NTFS in linux. So far so good. I have an external USB hard disk which has two partitions NTFS and FAT32. Now i can mount them and when i see the permissions i have read access to the NTFS partition and write access to FAT32 partition. But unfortunately whenever i try to write something to the fat partition it gives my"read only file system, unable to write". Even as a root. The funny thing is when i make a fat32 partition in my IDE harddrive i am able to write into FAT32. Is there something wrong with a USB drive. any help is deeply appreciated thanks |
