unable to start x with bizare dual screen

i configured framebuffer by editing grub.conf, everything went fine. and it booted pretty nicely.
then in kde i made the matrix screensaver as default. now what happens when i turn my pc on , tries to start x and repeatedly fails and then then the upper half of the screen splits into two and both shows same message in very small fonts that it has failed to start x.
when i press ok simultaneously both function. it again tries to start x but in vain! i have no other option but to turn on ny machine with windowsxp. please help!

It would be alot easier if you state what distro you are using anyway, when this happens to you press alt+ctrl+F1 this gives you a login screen login as root after that if you are using mandrake by any chance type XFdrake this gives you menu that helps you to solve your problem. Otherwise login as root and type xfreeconfig to see if you can configure anything this works for any distro, you can also try startx this would try to start your GUI. Good luck.

If you can post your xorg.conf file. Sounds like some settings aren't working with framebuffer enabled.
