Hi All I am using Redhat 5.6 64 and jut the other day I tried to do a reboot and to see the server would not shutdown nor reboots. All the server level functions are going on about there business as if though nothing happened
I had to cooled reboot the system Can some one help me on this thanks Regards |
Any error messages when you execute init 0?
Try the full command like '/sbin/shutdown now' or '/sbin reboot'. I hope you are executing these commands as root. |
Hi honeybadger thanks for the reply, yes I am loged in as root. That's the wired thing there are no errors at all as ordannary it just comes back to root prompt.
Giving the full path is the same no response at all, I hade to do a heard reboot from the power switch. One more thing this machine a part of an 2 node OCFS cluster file system, will this have anything to do with this. Reagrds |
I am looking up the OCFS cluster online - there is a FAQ for it. Also there is some information about heartbeat problem with fencing that has been documented - are you running such a service.
Rest assured I do not think the issue is in the machine that you have this has got more to do with your OCFS configuration. |
hi honeybadger, this is a 2 node cluster using heartbeat to fail-over some services and shared filesystem using OCFS2 where above services uses as their working directory.
I am new to this clustering business and appreciate any help that you can give me to trouble shoot this. Thanks and Regards |
Sorry but I am no expert in heartbeat :)
All the info I gathered was using google. |
Appreciate your help honeybadger
