Unable to pull updates from Repository's

Good afternoon,

I have been running into this issue for the past couple weeks or so and cant seem to find a complete fix. I located some things on YouTube about adding valid repositories and still am have issues when running update checks. I've tried to update & generate my sources list from the source list generator and copy it into the etc/apt folder. However i'm still having issues. Any help would be much appreciated.

Usually you would add some apt sources other than the CD. Here's what a source entry in /etc/apt/sources.list looks like:
Code:
deb http://archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu precise main restricted
but the last three words may differ slightly for your exact release of Ubuntu.

Also, the CDRom entries only work if the CD is in the drive. I usually delete those after the install.

Greetings,

I'm still experiencing issues. I have removed the cd rom entries and went to repogen to pull the most recent repositories. I move the source list and create a new one i paste the rep links into vim and wq!

once they are saved i run apt-get update and am still getting the same failed to fetch error.

I have tried this on my ubuntu 16.10 server and on my kali linux 2.0 box. I think im close but its something simple that im missing.

Your URLs are all wrong. They should be http:// instead of http:/
(two slashes, not one slash)

Why did you think it was okay to change these? What was wrong with the original software sources provided by the Ubuntu developers??

Also, Ubuntu 15.04 "Vivid" is obsolete, end-of-life, and unsupported.
