Unable to mount root fs on unknown-block(0,0)
Hi
Not a good day so far I upgraded my NetBooks HDD last week to a SSD Unable to mount root fs on unknown-block(0,0) I'm using ext2 as my FS as I don't want my NetBook to use journeling and take up the lifetime of the SSD Obviously I won't boot anymore, but I've been using it all weekend with no problems Is it broken already? Or will a FS check fix the issue? Thanks |
I have a few more questions that might help us solve this:
What was your partition layout before you swapped out the drive? How did you copy over the filesystems from the old to the new drive? I hope you get this solved. |
Simple answer, I didn't
I did a brand new install of BackTrack with ext2, but after this error, I did a new install with ext3, as people were saying that the average lifetime for SSD under normal use is about 40 years so I went with ext3 |
