Unable to Mount into Ubuntu 12.04

After successfully reinstalled windows 7 without reformat, I was unable to boot into ubuntu 12.04 OS.

The error message was :
<initramfs> Unable to find a medium containing a live file system

My pc is a dual-boot machine which consist of windows 7 pro and ubuntu 12.04.

Please guide me to resolve this problem, thank you.

That's usual Windows behaviour. Put in an ubuntu cd if you have and boot from that. Maybe it offers you a sort of rescue mode that enables you to repair the booting. I do not know the exact procedure in 12.04 but it should work rather easily. Maybe you have to follow the install procedure until Ubuntu detects that there already is a working installation...

Good luck

If you still have the Live 12.04 CD (or DVD), boot from it and follow this process:

Mount the Ubuntu partition: sudo mount /dev/sdaX /mnt

Run grub-install: sudo grub-install –root-directory=/mnt/ /dev/sda

Reboot, then run sudo update-grub

The reinstallation of Windows reset the boot order and hid your Ubuntu partition. This will bring it to the fore.
