I am unable to log into my red hat 9.0 !. This is the message am getting -

Your session only lasted less then 10 seconds. If you have not logged out yourself, this could mean that there is some installation problem or that you may be out of disk space. try logging in in one of the fail safe sessions to see if you could fix this problem

/etc/x11/xdm/xsession/ line 115:/usr/bin/ssh-agent/etc/x11/
xinit/xclients no such file or directory

/usr/bin/ssh-agent/etc/x11/xclient

I did try logging in in all modes to no avail ( both for root and my other user id ).

Is this problem fixable. Am able to enter some sort of prompt from GRUB but i dont know what to do .am able to enter in rescue mode using cd ... but i dont quite know what to do

try a diffent window manager... if i remeber correctly when i got that error it was a problem with gnome not x. try installing fluxbox or xfce4 and starting it up after editing your ~/.xinitrc

Can you please be a bit more specific . Am sort of a newbee ...am rite now in a prompt in the linux rescue mode(sh-2 05#) using the cd ......how do I install the other managers ? and how do I make changes in the ~/xintrc file ? Hope to hear from you soon.

I was able to eneter into the text mode even without the cd ....but ...what do i do ...how to i install or reinstall a new display manager ...

one more thing ...i checked to see is the files are present ... they all are !!( xclient ...)

and tried a few ideas .....all the required lines and files seem to be there !! the author suggests the possibility of smthing wrong with my xsession script file . !?!
