Unable to log in now :(
 

First of all I am new to Linux so forgive me!
Basically I installed and and up with no problems, then I got a bit brave and wanted to get Proftp working. Managed to get in but the path was to the user home dir, SO I went to users set up and changed the path to a folder I made called FTP_Home, as default. Now KDE says on start up something on the lines of not a writable folder see administrator for help. I only have the one account set up so now I cant get in! Being a windows user normally I have no idea how to put this right!!
I can get to a console windows as "root" but I dont know what to do!

Any help for this idiot would be appreciated very much..

When I log in as root , when I dir I can only see a tmp and a DRAKX folder?

Help!!

maybe you should check the file ownership of the users' home dirs.

The home dirs should be owned my their users.

Okay, this isn't the right way to do it, and others can feel free to pick me/it apart, but I'd log into the system as root, then Browse Filesystem until I found the FTP_Home folder. Then right-click in the folder and, under Properties, change the Permissions so that everyone can 'read, write, execute'. Log out as root and log back in as yourself and you should get access to it.

Perhaps someone with more Command Line skills will tell you how to do it in Terminal.
