Unable to load kernel module nvidia-o

still trying to bring SuSE 9 to life. After installation I downloaded kernel_source from Yast and then tried to install nvidia5336 driver. I get an error that says "Unable to load kernel module nvidia-o. Most likely because the kernel module was built using the wrong kernel source files."

I'm computer literate but finding that i'm pretty dumb when it comes to linux as i have no idea how to fix this and haven't had much luck in my searches. This is just one of a few issues i'm trying to resolve before my wife makes me go back to the windows world... :(

would appreciate any help available... thanx, matt

Click online update.. and click "INSTALL NVIDIA DRIVER..." and you'd have had this done a while ago? It even asks you if you want to install while your installing the system for the first time.

I actually tried that, I get an error that says "Error installing patch "fetchnvidia". In the details it says "ERROR(You:Prescript failed.) /var/lib/YaST2/you/scripts/fetchnvidia".

I'm having the same issue. Anyone know a way around this fetchnvidia failure? Is it a permissions thing?
