unable to install

Good evening,
After installing ubuntu 9.10 , and connecting to the internet, when I opened terminal and type su -& password: error su: Authentication failure;
However sudo is working.
Then I typed
root@adarsh:/home/adarsh/Desktop# ./
-bash: ./ Permission denied
Guys could you please tell me how to install to the machine.

Suggestion: Do not bump your posts until you absolutely have to. Once someone has replied to your posts (even you) your post loses zero reply status and gets lets attention.

Is executable permission set on

# chmod 755
