Now I feel lika a newbie and dońt know what to do.

Rep:
your distro may not install the development files, which is why libusb is there but the pkg-config and header files aren't, so install the dev files then try again.

Should HPLIP be in a repo-file, but is not as I understand.
How to get it there?

Now the HP Deskjet 5655 printer is working fully
as a local printer on an usb-port.
First I downloaded HPLIP: # yum install hplip
As CUPS was already running on my comp. I could
immediately use CUPS web-based administration from
my web browser box: http://localhost:631/
Clicked then on Administration, then Add Printer
Clicked on Local Printers: hp deskjet 5600
and then on Continue. Filled in Location: My desk
and then Continued to Model:
HP Deskjet 5550-CUPS+Gutenprint v5.9 Simplified (en)
and at last Add Printer.
Next win. Set Default Options for hp_deskjet_5600
General settings.
Clicked on Set Default Options
Next win. (Idle, Accepting Jobs, Not Shared, Server Default)
Done!
I respect your choice. Gotta go with what you got.
Yeah, after 5 years of Mint, the box was getting a bit flaky and there wasn't any nasty-ware, so I figured it was getting "constipated", the same as a Windows box after too many updates.
I figured a clean install was the best thing and since I hear that W-10 is finally pretty good, thought I'd give it a try. I haven't decided on it yet, but it looks like much of the stuff I know about it still exists. I "grew up" on DOS 2.0 and "rolling your own IBM clone" way back when, so am more familiar with the Command Line stuff. Ha! I remember paying $300.00 for a Full Height, refurbished, 5 1/2" 20 Meg (yes, Meg!) drive at a computer show in San Francisco, back in the day!
I'll probably have another LINUX Box soon. A lady at church has a DELL that she replaced and wants me to transfer her desired files to the new box. If I ask, I'm sure it will be mine for cheap or free. Now that my cold/flu is over, I'll be doing that little job in the near future.
