You mean this didn't work ?
Code:
wget -c http://sourceforge.net/projects/gparted/files/gparted-live-stable/0.6.4-1/gparted-live-0.6.4-1.iso/download?use_mirror=aarnet
It is working here for me.
Don't know whaat happened yesterday but "gparted" has now successfully loaded this morning. It finished at 11:30 EST Australia (Which is 6am New Delhi). My computer was used for the download, using the local Library's Wi-fi. So by eliminating my usual ISP the problem is solved. The fault is with my provider, even though they will not admit it.

Anisha: Looking forward to hearing your thoughts on the suggested new thread - see post 59. It would be very useful to me if that could be solved. Should Imark this thread solved now?

Thankyou - Des

I hope you know that you are supposed to burn the downloaded ISO as an IMAGE on a CD.

I have not understood this question clearly so I cannot guide you on a proper title. Go ahead with creating the new thread and then you may ask the repliers there about the proper thread title (if you wish) and secondly you do not have to wait for one thread to finish before you can start another. Many threads can go in parallel. Only thing I can advise you is that write the thread title as much descriptive as you can. and for the questions which do not belong to a particular domain I use Linux-Newbie or Linux-General forums.

This forum does not consider the following as SMS language:

Yes but that can wait for now

re written paragraph

In Open Office Word Processor. Is it possible to make a hyperlink do two things, or, in other words: accomplish more than one task - but not start the second task until the 1st one is finished. For example play two mp3 files, play them both, but in the appropriate order.

Multitasking Hyperlinks

Do you understand this? above? I have to make it so you can understand it otherwise nobody else will understand it either

Yes that is descriptive enough, and Multitasking Hyperlinks in OpenOffice Word can be a nice thread title !

and if you are able to locate that GParted ISO now, you can mark this thread solved.

OK er so what "SMS" language did I use? I can only find BTW (By the way) and u (you) in my posts.

Both of which are in the Internet Acronyms Dictionary ?

BTW is considered an Internet Acronyms in this forum and u is considered as SMS language text.

It is considered SMS language if single letters replace words:
Quote:
* be becomes b
* see becomes c
* okay becomes k
* okay cool becomes kk
* are becomes r
* you becomes u
* why becomes y
* ate becomes 8
* for becomes 4
but IMHO is considered a valid acronym for In My Humble Opinion on this forum.

Thanks - but I'm not that worried about it, I thought I had caught you out in a mistake and I was jumping in to point it out to you. But - you've set me straight (again) It's all happy; there is no need to bother an already busy moderator. I believe you - I accept what you are saying - It's all good - I'm backing off now - I will try very hard not use single letter abbreviation. Thank you for the dictionary site, I am finding that fascinating. So many synonyms - incredible!

Why do the seemingly simple things escape me?

I had this thread as solved but went back to unsolved as I cannot find the gparted download - Here is what I get from the "Locate gparted" command

des@des:~$ locate gparted
/home/des/.local/share/Trash/files/gparted-live-0.6.2-5.iso
/home/des/.local/share/Trash/files/gparted-live-0.6.2-5.iso.part
/home/des/.local/share/Trash/info/gparted-live-0.6.2-5.iso.part.trashinfo
/home/des/.local/share/Trash/info/gparted-live-0.6.2-5.iso.trashinfo
/usr/share/app-install/desktop/gparted.desktop
/usr/share/app-install/icons/gparted.png
/usr/share/locale-langpack/en_AU/LC_MESSAGES/gparted.mo
/usr/share/locale-langpack/en_CA/LC_MESSAGES/gparted.mo
/usr/share/locale-langpack/en_GB/LC_MESSAGES/gparted.mo
des@des:~$

Does this make sense to you Anisha?

Where did you execute the wget command from EXACTLY ?

i.e. from here ?
Code:
des@des:~$
or from some where else ?

From wherever you ran that command, navigate to that directory through cd command and do an ls -l there.

also do:
Code:
cd /home/des/.local/share/Trash/files
ls -l
