Unable to do partition as in windows. Could not find the drives

I did manual partition during installation.I could not find the drives for keeping my contents.Want step by step way to partition.Want to keep four drives for different purposes.

Then either you didn't follow the correct application to access the drive or your distro or hardware doesn't see the drive for some reason.

During the installation of what? Might help if you gave us the distribution. How did you do the manual partitioning? What other operating system(s) if any, do you have?
